School Uniform
Our School Uniform is important to us. It is one way in which we identify ourselves as a school family and it promotes a strong, cohesive school identity which supports high standards and expectations in all areas of school life. Smartness and high standards of appearance are expected at all times.
The governing body supports the Executive Headteacher in implementing the school uniform policy, and liaises with the Head of School to ensure that the policy is applied fairly and with sensitivity.

An alternative summer uniform of short grey trousers or Red or Blue Gingham dress may be worn. Sun hats/baseball caps are strongly encouraged during the summer term.
Elements of our uniform are available with the school logo, these can be purchased from the School Shop linked below should you wish to do so.
We ask all parents who send their children to Brompton-On-Swale C.E Primary School to support the school uniform policy. We believe that parents have a duty to send their children correctly dressed and ready for work. One of the responsibilities of parents is to ensure that their child has the correct uniform, and that it is clean, clearly named and in good repair.
Pre-Loved Uniform
A small selection of pre-loved uniform is available, please contact the school office for further information.
P.E. Activities
The children are expected to have the following for P.E. activities:
- PLAIN T-shirt (optional school house colour)
- PLAIN dark shorts, leggings, plimsolls and/or trainers (outdoor P.E.)
We try to teach P.E. lessons outside when appropriate throughout the year. A plain dark track-suit is helpful during the colder months.
When to wear P.E. Kit
Children will wear their P.E. Kit into school on the days that it is being taught. On the days where children are attending an after-school sports club within school, then they must attend in school uniform and bring sports clothing with them to change into at the end of the day.
Please note:
- Football shirts or tracksuits with logos are to be avoided please.
- Earrings must be removed in order to take full part in P.E. activities. It is not acceptable nor safe to cover earrings with plasters. This is a requirement from the North Yorkshire Local Authority PE lesson risk assessment which states that 'all jewellery must be removed by the pupil'. If your child is going to have their ears pierced, we ask that this is done at the start of the summer holidays to avoid them missing P.E. lessons.
